Demo mode and live mode
What the chamber can and cannot do when it runs in demo mode, and how to tell which mode you are in.
The chamber has two modes. Live mode is the full chamber: AI models read your documents, reason about the case and write the strategy and the draft. Demo mode is what runs when the AI service is not connected, for example on a test install.
In demo mode
- The Munshi uses simple text rules to find the FIR number, police station, sections and dates. It does not interpret the law.
- The Researchers show the closest passages in the library for each issue. These are search results, not analysed answers, and some may be off the point.
- Photos of papers are stored with the case but not read.
- There is no strategy, no Opposing Counsel and no Bench.
- The Drafter prepares the court form and fills in only what the case file states. Everything else is left as a blank in square brackets for you to complete.
Every card, answer and draft made in demo mode says so on its face, and the case page shows a demo notice. Nothing in demo mode is presented as legal analysis.
In live mode
All the characters work as described in "How the chamber works". Photos of documents are read and transcribed, and the Checker also asks a second model whether each cited passage really supports the sentence that cites it.
