For law students

Learn the law the way a chamber works it.

LLB and LLM students use Wakeelnama to read leading judgments properly, ask the library questions that come back with the paragraph, and practise moots against a bench that asks back.

The free plan

Useful on its own, with no card.

When you need more, the Student plan is Rs. 500 a month: 40 answers a day, 3 case files, 4 chamber runs a month and drafting.

The library
Statutes section by section and judgments with numbered paragraphs, searchable by words, a section or a citation.
Cited answers
10 questions a day answered from the library, each tied to the paragraph it relies on. When the library has nothing, the answer says so.
Citator signals
Beside every judgment: how later judgments in the library treated it, and which cases cite it.
The calculators
Limitation, inheritance shares, maintenance, interest and dates, each showing its working and the rule behind it.
A case file
1 open case file and 1 full chamber run a month, enough to try a moot problem end to end.
Moot practice

A bench that asks back.

Each practice run is one chamber run on your plan.

  1. Step 1

Open the problem as a practice case

Paste the moot problem or upload it. Say which side you are on.

  2. Step 2

    Run the chamber

Issues are framed, the library is searched for each one, and a strategy goes on the board with its weak points listed.

  3. Step 3

    Face the Bench

Under “From the bench” are the questions a judge is likely to ask. Answer each one out loud before you open the suggested answer.

  4. Step 4

    Hear the other side

Opposing Counsel puts the best case against you, with the authority it relies on. Prepare your rebuttal from the cited paragraphs.

Reading and briefs

Read the judgment, not a summary of a summary.

Most cited first
Learn lists the judgments other judgments in our library lean on most, a good place to start a topic.
Explain a section
Ask the Researcher to explain a provision with the leading cases, then open each cited paragraph and read it in full.
Case briefs, planned
Short briefs of leading judgments in facts, issues, rule, application and conclusion form, written by us and checked against the text. Not built yet.

Honest about what it is.

Wakeelnama is a study and practice tool, not a substitute for your teachers, your textbooks or the law reports. The library is still small, so a point it does not hold is one you research yourself. Its answers are research to read and check, never advice to give anyone.
